Walkerton Santa Claus Parade

Walkerton | by Robyn Garvey

Annual event begins at 7 p.m.

Family fun in Walkerton this evening as the Kinsmen host the annual Santa Clause Parade.

This year’s theme is ‘Making Memories’.

Parade Spokesperson Wayne Holman says this is one of the biggest parades in the area and he warmly invites everyone to come out and join in the festivities.

The fun for the little ones begins at 5:30 this evening in the basement of the Walkerton Library.

Santa will be on hand to meet and greet the children and have his photo taken with them.

The parade follows at 7pm.

Holman says everyone loves a night parade as it is filled with floats boasting bright beautiful lights.

He says the parade promises to be a hit for all ages, and reminds spectators to come early as the streets  fill up very
fast.

The Walkerton Firefighters will also be on hand accepting donation for the Walkerton Food Bank.

The firefighters will be walking along the parade route to collect the donations.

They want to help ensure everyone has some food on the table this Christmas season.
