Kincardine | by Travis Jackson

SIU concluded that the man died of a medical illness and not by the actions of police.

An investigation into the death of a man near Kincardine last month has been terminated by the Special Investigations Unit (SIU).

Early in the morning on October 31st, 2018, OPP responded to a residence in the area of Side Road 10 and South Line for a report of a domestic dispute.

Based on information received, the officers went to a second residence in the area of Lake Range Drive and Concession Road 10.

The officers left after speaking with a 45-year-old man of interest and another individual. Sometime later, the OPP -- along with Fire Services and Emergency Medical Services -- returned to the residence after getting information that the 45-year-old man had no vital signs.

First aid was performed on the man and he was transported to hospital. He was pronounced dead at 9:36am.

Director of the Special Investigations Unit, Tony Loparco, said, ''The man’s death was not caused by the police and was of a medical nature. As such, I have terminated the investigation into this incident.''
