The potential physical and psychological danger to children through bullying is being highlighted by school boards during this Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week in Ontario.
The week aims to point out the causes and effects of bullying including physical contact, verbal abuse, exclusion and gossip, and cyberbullying.
A study on the subject points to the power imbalance of one child over another, intention to harm and repeated bullying behaviour.
School boards across the province continue to work toward raising awareness of the difference between conflict and bullying, in making sure your kids stay safe at school and on-line.
Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week runs through Saturday.
