Controlled blasting will resume at the new Bala Falls Hydro Facility site starting November 19th.
The District of Muskoka says the blasts will take place daily at 11:00 a.m. and again at 6:00 p.m. (except on Sundays).
The District says road closures of up to 30 minutes can be expected during the blast times. District Engineering consultants and the OPP will also be on site during blast periods.
The District says there have been no issues to date with the blasting activities and blast levels have been well below the threshold of Muskoka's vibration policy.
The construction of a utility trench starts November 19th and goes for approximately 6 weeks.
Single lane closures to allow for construction of the trench will begin on November 19th.
It's expected that a single lane closure will be in place for 6 weeks at the Moon River Bridge.
