Major Shakeup in Flyers' Organization

Goderich | by Peter Jackson

Goderich hires former Exeter GM Doug Timmermans amid personnel turnover

Three wins and two overtime losses through the first 19 games of the Provincial Junior Hockey League season have led to a shakeup in the Goderich Flyers organization.

Team spokesperson Doug Cruickshank says former Exeter Hawks' general manager Doug Timmermans has joined the Flyers as GM.

Goderich head coach Chris Corbett and assistant coach Russ Sutton resigned last Saturday, but are staying with the club in a recruiting capacity.

Replacements for both are expected to be announced shortly.

Timmermans replaces David Errington as general manager.

Errington will remain as a Flyers executive board member.

The change was followed by a 5-1 Goderich victory at Schomberg on Sunday with Trent Michie, Matt Bean, Noah Nurse, Eric Vander Eyk and Jake Fritzley scoring for the Flyers.

The Flyers visit Hanover Friday at 8pm, then return to the Maitland Rec Centre to host Mitchell on Friday, November 23rd.

The game versus Mitchell is also the night of the Flyers' annual pyjama toss, in aid of the Huron County Christmas Bureau.
