Bruce Power to Move Innovation Institute

Port Elgin | by Ken Hashizume

The centre will now be in Port Elgin instead of Bruce County Museum.

Bruce Power is going ahead with a Nuclear Innovation Institute but at a different location.

They will set up a temporary location on Goderich Street (Highway 21) in Port Elgin that is slated to open in January.

Bruce Power had originally wanted to put the institute inside the Bruce County Museum and Archives in Southampton.

But a lack of public support of that site forced them to look at other areas.

The Nuclear Innovation Institute is a partnership between Bruce Power and the County of Bruce.

It will serve as a way to develop innovative technologies, and provide educational and career opportunities.
