There are public consultations taking place on the future of Catholic education in Grey and Bruce counties.
The Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board (BGCDSB) have schedule four meetings: November 15th at St. Anthony's Catholic School in Kincardine, November 20th at St. Mary's High School in Owen Sound, November 27th at Sacred Heart High School in Walkerton, and St. Joseph's Catholic School in Port Elgin on January 15th.
Senior staff will be on hand to deliver an update on where they have been and some of the initiatives that they are working on.
Director of Education Jamie McKinnon says the board in the third year of their 4-year strategic plan.
He says the timing was right to check with the public and see what comes next.
McKinnon says with a new provincial government in place, they also want to take the opportunity to build on their strategic work and remind those that they are still focused on improving student learning.
He says while governments change, the learning never does.
McKinnon says he hopes the public who attend these consultations will ask them anything but warns they may not have all the answers.
He says he hopes that once they get into the strategic planning process that they will be able to ask the right questions to the public.
