People are being encouraged to nice to someone.
Today is Random Act of Kindness Day in Grey-Bruce and across Canada.
It is organized be the Community Foundation Grey Bruce.
Donna Beatty with the Owen Sound Community Fund says they are trying to raise awareness of how even a small amount of kindness will have a ripple effect.
She says to know that someone was doing something kind out of the blue will change a person's life.
Beatty says the Grey-Bruce area is a community with a strong community spirit.
She says it has a long history of people taking care of each other.
Beatty says they have been going around to businesses handing out candies with cards attached to them.
She says they can give them out to their customers as a reminder that this is a very caring community.
The Owen Sound Community Fund was created with funds left over from the City's sesquicentennial in 2017.
