Ontario Works Cheques Not Mailed

Bruce County | by Travis Jackson

Ontario Works benefit cheques will not be mailed this week due to postal job action.

If you collect Ontario Works benefit cheques, you should know that they will NOT be mailed this week due to the Canada Post mail disruption.

The announcement comes from the Bruce County Human Services Department.

If you receive your payment by direct deposit your statement for November benefits will be mailed.

Bruce County residents will be able to pick up their cheque at the office they regularly see their caseworker.

This includes the following locations:

* Kincardine Resource Centre
* Port Elgin Resource Centre
* Wiarton Resource Centre
* County of Bruce Administration Building

Those who cannot get to their pick-up location are asked to call 1-800-265-3005 to make alternate arrangements.

You should be prepared to show photo ID in order to pick up your cheque.
