Second accused arrested in death of Nolan Panchyshyn now faces second degree murder charge

A new murder charge faces a 22-year-old Chatsworth man in the death of Nolan Panchyshyn.

Provincial Police say as a result of ongoing investigation 22-year-old David Beattie was arrested on Monday and charged with second degree murder in connection with Panchyshyn's death.

OPP located the body of 20-year-old Panchyshyn in March 2018 during a search of a property near Dornoch, after he was reported missing in December 2017.

Beattie was initially charged with fail to comply with probation and indignity to a dead body when he was arrested back in March.

Beattie is due to appear in an Owen Sound court by video on Nov. 6.

Both of the accused arrested by OPP in relation to Panchyshyn's death now face a murder charge.

Dwayne Hammond, 46, of Chatsworth Township was charged with second degree murder, as well as indignity to a dead body and possession of a weapon while prohibited, when police made their initial arrest in the case in March.
