FCC Replacing Old Defibrillators In Huron County

Huron County | by Peter Jackson

Farm Credit Canada spending $20,000 to replace 38 defibrillators across Huron.

Heart and Stroke Ontario says just one in 10 patients survive a heart attack outside a hospital.

Farm Credit Canada is helping potential cardiovascular patients in Huron County, with funding to replace a number of older defibrillators.

The FCC is sending $20 thousand to Huron County to purchase the new devices, in addition to a commitment through the County's capital budget.

The funding will help retire and replace 38 of the 80 devices, which can mean the difference between life and death for anyone who suffers a heart attack in a local public facility.

The County's Public Access to Defibrillators program is among 80 across Canada to be chosen for the funding.

The FCC received over 1,400 applications from organizations nationwide.
