South Bruce Peninsula Candidate Q & A

South Bruce Peninsula | by John Divinski

Bayshore Broadcasting asked municipal candidates where they stand on some key issues

To help inform you on the platforms of candidates running for mayor and council in the upcoming municipal election, Bayshore Broadcasting News reached out to all those seeking office in municipalities across Grey and Bruce counties.

A number of local municipalities will be posted daily through Monday, Oct. 15.

In South Bruce Peninsula, Bayshore Broadcasting News posed a series of questions and received responses from six candidates.

Mayoral candidates Lois Keayes, John Schnurr and Neil Richardson did not provide answers, neither did deputy mayor candidates Jay Kirkland and Jeff Leonard, as well as council hopefuls Caleb Hull and Paul McKenzie.

You can access the answers provided by each candidate by clicking on his or her name below.

Here are the questions we asked:

1) Are you in favour of bricks-and-mortar cannabis stores in your municipality? Why or why not?

2) Has South Bruce Peninsula lost control of its growing tourism sector in the municipality and what would you do to correct it particularly at Sauble Beach?

3) How would you address the affordable housing issue in South Bruce Peninsula for seniors who are downsizing ?
