Saugeen Pow Wow This Weekend

Pow Wow to be held at the James Mason Cultural Centre on French Bay Road, just outside Southampton.

The 47th annual Saugeen First Nation Pow Wow takes place this weekend.

The Saugeen First Nation has a competition Pow Wow annually on the second weekend of August showcasing Native Dance, Handicraft, and Contemporary Native music. Dancers and singers compete for money.

The Pow Wow grounds are located at the James Mason Cultural Centre on French Bay Road, just outside Southampton.

This year, the theme will be ''Remembering Residential School Survivors''.

The event is expected to bring hundreds of people to Saugeen Shores.

Admission is $10 per day for adults, $5 a day for kids age 4-12, and free for kids under 3.

Expect lots of dancing, food, music, and fun!

Camping and showers are available by reservation for anyone interested in staying overnight.
