"Reach For Success" Expanding Job Training Fields In Huron County

Huron County | by Fadi Didi

Officials say support and service workers in high demand.

A program for young adults to provide workplace experience and job training in Huron County is expanding.

The Centres for Employment and Learning is broadening its "Reach For Success" program to include more exposure to the Support/Service Worker field along Ontario's West Coast.

Program Coordinator Amanda Swartz says the program has heard from a number of employers who are lacking enough workers applying for support or service staff.

Reach For Success provides 4 weeks of paid group employability workshops, followed by 8 weeks of paid job placement with a local employer.

Those taking part also have practice doing job interviews and creating a resume, and the training is paid.

Anyone between 15 and 30 years of age interested in taking part can contact the Centres for Employment and Learning at 519-482-1700, or email [email protected].
