Compass Minerals has agreed to return to the bargaining table with striking workers at their salt mine, in Goderich.
Unifor Local 16-0 represents 348 members who work in the mine.
Strikes escalated in the last week, after two barricades were created to disallow non-union labourers from entering the mine.
Compass filed a court order to have the barricades removed, just days before agreeing to return to negotiations.
Unifor and Compass are close on monetary issues in a new collective agreement, but the union is defiant against a Compass proposal on schedules among other working conditions.
The proposal would see some workers put in as much at 72 hours a week on the job.
Mine workers walked out on April 27th, after their last three-year contract expired earlier this year.
