A 52-year-old man faces numerous charges after a major crystal meth bust in Owen Sound.

City police say over 330 grams of crystal meth valued at over $30,000 was seized after detectives and uniformed officers conducted a stop of a vehicle around 4:30 p.m. yesterday in the 1000 block of 3rd Avenue East.

Acting Detective Sergeant Pete Daniels says in almost 29 years of policing, this is the largest one-time seizure of methamphetamine he's seen.

Police also seized a small quantity of other drugs and $725 in cash.

The stop came after the conclusion of an investigation into a suspected drug trafficker by the Owen Sound Police Service Drug Unit and Criminal Investigations Branch.

Police say the suspect was a passenger in the vehicle and was arrested.

A female was also taken into custody and released without charges.

Michael William Wallace, 52, of no fixed address faces charges of possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, possession of Oxycodone and possession of ecstasy.

Police say Wallace made an appearance in bail court today.
