Jill Dunlop edged Doug Downey to win the Progressive Conservative nomination in Simcoe North, but both will be taking seats at Queen's Park.
Dunlop cruised to victory last night(Thurs), while Downey, a former Orillia councillor, who was handpicked by Doug Ford to represent Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte, also had an easy win.
Dunlop will be pushing the importance of the trades.
She believes she will be one of the only MPP's who comes from a small business family, a plumbing family.
Dunlop says when talking with manufacturers and construction workers in the riding, there is a gap that is missing.
As for Downey, he says the win by the PC's for Ontario means the province will be open for business and they will get the economy turning again.
He says the first order of business will be to review the material he has received from groups and individuals to dig down deeper so he understands what they were trying to tell him.
