Port Elgin Woman Claims Cat Was Killed by Neighbour

Port Elgin | by Travis Jackson

Cindy Rossignol says that the man showed no remorse as he ''clubbed her cat to death with his rake''

A Port Elgin woman says that her neighbour killed her cat.

A post from the Cindy Rossignol's Facebook page claims that her 8-month-old kitten named Koda was lured into her 77-year-old neighbour's backyard where it was killed as a result of the man bashing the cat on the head with a dandelion rake.

Cindy says she was also injured in the incident with her neighbour. She says that after he killed the cat, that he cut her hand with the same rake.

She says that the neighbour showed no remorse for his alleged crimes.

Rossignol was forced to take her severely injured cat to Owen Sound's Emergency Veterinary Clinic, where it was put down.

Rossignol says that the 77-year-old man has been charged with killing an animal, while Rossignol's 49-year-old boyfriend -- who was also involved in the altercation -- has been charged with assault. She says that both men were released under a promise to appear in court.

Cindy says that she fears for the safety of her family. She says she doesn't know how to explain the tragedy to her daughter.

Rossignol's Facebook post has been shared nearly 400 times. You can view the whole post here.
