The authorities have now enforced an eviction notice at the Victorious Living centre in Owen Sound.
Police & the Sheriff converged on the homeless shelter this afternoon (May 29th) and removed the remaining 2 residents before changing all the locks on the doors.
Owen Sound's only declared candidate for Mayor, Ray Botten was one of those refusing to leave.
Bayshore Broadcasting News reporter Matt Hermiz says Botten sat in the doorway of the Shelter for about an hour and screamed that he wouldn't leave.
Just before 5 o'clock, police talked to Botten and gently carried him away.
He was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Grey County officials relate EMS staff were on hand as " stand by " if required and were not involved in the eviction process.
Another homeless shelter resident was on scene and says he has no real option but to live on the streets.
Ian MacLellan says he can't afford an apartment based on the money he receives each month.
Pastor Randy Kennedy says there are few options for those now displaced, claiming the nearest shelter is 150 kms away.
Kennedy is hoping to find alternate funding for a mortgage.
The eviction order was filed last week, in a dispute with the current mortgage holder.
The sheriff tells us they have provided resources for all residents to access other services in the area.
