The opening night of the Stratford Festival was cancelled, due to a "bomb threat."
Hundreds of patrons seated to see The Tempest were asked to evacuate the Festival Theatre around 7:00 p.m. Monday night.
Stratford Police say they received a call from an unknown individual, claiming an explosive was places somewhere inside the theatre.
Theatre personnel evacuated the facility, as soon as the threat was learned about.
A search of the building found no suspicious devices.
Officials with the Stratford Festival say tickets for Monday night's performance will be honoured Tuesday, when The Tempest is now set to formally open.
No suspects have been charged.
