The 2nd annual Hike for Huron Shores Hospice will be taking place in Kincardine this Saturday (May 12th).
The event will take place at the Davidson Centre starting at 9:30am.
If the weather permits, participants will walk through the Kincardine Trails, or walk the outside track at the Davidson Centre.
If weather is not so nice, the walk will take place on the inside track.
A BBQ by donation will be cooked up by the Kincardine Lions. You can also come and get your face painted. All ages are welcome to attend.
Huron Shores Hospice has set a goal to raise $15,000 at the event. Money raised will go to fund a 1-bed residential suite at Tiverton Park Manor.
Huron Shores Hospice is not government funded, so monies raised are essential to continue operations at the recently opened facility.
Huron Shores Hospice is a charitable not-for-profit, volunteer-led, community-funded residential hospice, providing quality end-of-life care, at no cost, to residents of southern Bruce County.
Phase 1 of their 3 phase plan was achieved last month (April) when they opened their 1st bed.
Phase 2 is in the early stages, but a 2nd bed is planned for the facility and they hope to have it open within the next two years.
