Weekend Storm Sets Records in Grey-Bruce

Owen Sound | by Kevin Bernard

April snowfall is largest reported amount in over 25 years

Winter weather in Grey-Bruce set records over the weekend.

The Wiarton airport received 39.6 centimeters of snow. The previous record was 26.8cm back in April 1992.

Winter storm warnings were in effect in the Owen Sound area, and north up to the Bruce Peninsula.

Winds in Wiarton were gusting around 70km/hr.

The winter weather isn't going away any time soon, according to Weather Specialist John Wilson.

He says that it appears that we'll experience colder temperatures through to the end of the month.

Wilson says we can expect a break from the snow this weekend.

The old record for moisture was 30.5mm, and over the weekend we got 40.4mm
