Accolades Continue For 2017 IPM In Walton

Walton | by Fadi Didi

Ontario Plowmen's Association praises IPM's charitable giving at annual general meeting.

Huron County continues to benefit from the 100th International Plowing Match.

The Ontario Plowmen's Association held their annual general meeting in Stratford, where Warden Jim Ginn says the 2017 IPM continued to receive accolades.

September's plowing match drew more than 76 thousand visitors to the Huron East community of Walton, and was attended by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Premier Kathleen Wynne.

Ginn says provincial plowmen were impressed with the donations made by the IPM to local organizations.

Among the donations were $2 thousand to the Huron Women's Shelter, $4,500 to the Tanner Steffler Foundation, $2 thousand to the Huron East Fire Department, and $2 thousand to the Huron County Food Bank Distribution Centre.

The 101st International Plowing Match will be held in Chatham-Kent this September.
