Bruce Power is throwing its support behind the effort to strengthen broadband connectivity in the region.
The world's largest nuclear power generator has now joined SWIFT (or the Southwest Integrated Fibre Technology) project, a move that will help local communities and the economy reach their full potential, according to Sarah Shortreed, Bruce Power's Vice President and Chief Information Officer.
The SWIFT project aims to bring broadband Internet to the most rural parts of Southwestern Ontario, giving families and businesses the chance to be better connected on line.
Having Bruce Power join the SWIFT group will also help to break down barriers to economic development, e-commerce, education, employment and even health care.
It's about being as connected as possible in a growing age of technology.
