Home Sales Fall But Prices Are Up.

Real Estate numbers for February in Grey Bruce show a drop in total sales of 23 percent.


The number of homes sold in Grey Bruce and part of Wellington county, took a tumble last month.

Figures released by the Realtors Association of Grey Bruce Owen Sound show 132 homes sold, down 23.3 percent from February of last year.

However, the total is right in line with the 10 year average for the month.

On a year to date basis, 253 units have been sold which is down 10.6 percent from the same time last year.

The average price for a home sold in February in the area was 322 thousand dollars, up 12.3 percent in a year.

Overall supply of homes listed for sale remains at a record low.

There are just 508 homes on the MLS market right now, which is down 34 percent from 2017 and works out to just 3.8 months worth of inventory.

The value of all home sales in February was 42.5 million dollars, a drop of nearly 14 percent from the same month last year.
