Car Wedged Underneath Recycling Truck

Barrie | by Ian MacLennan

The driver of the car is facing several charges.

A small car ended up wedged underneath a recycling truck after hitting it from behind.

Barrie Police say this happened in the area of Grove and Owen Streets yesterday.

While the 48 year old female driver from Barrie wasn't injured, officers learned she was possibly on a medication that could impact her driving ability.

Further testing at the police station eventually resulted in charges of impaired by drug and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

Police remind the public that prescription drugs when used properly or abused,  can impair driving,  and you should take the time to speak to your doctor or pharmacist about the affects of prescribed drugs.
