Shelburne Police Polar Plunge brings in almost double their goal of $10,000

A huge success for Shelburne Police.

This year's Polar Plunge for Special Olympics raised over $19,000 - almost doubling the goal set out of $10,000.

The annual event hosted on Family Day at Fiddle Park involved more than 30 plungers.

It was organized by Constable Jeff McLean and involved people from local businesses, organizations, and schools dipping into the icy water.

The two top individual fundraisers were Town Councillor Dan Sample and Mayor Ken Bennington, while the top fundraising team was Super Troopers involving members of the Shelburne Police Service.

Country 105 did a broadcast of the plunge live on Facebook.
