Failure Can Go A Long Way

An interesting situation concerning the Edmonton Physics Teacher fired because he gave students a mark of zero for assignments they did not do.

The Edmonton school board has a policy that if a students fails to complete an assignment, teachers must note it as being missed, but not give them a mark of zero.

To me,that just does not make any  sense. If you don't do the work, don't complete the assignment, then the mark you get is a zero.

Failure these days is such a dirty word. If students fail a subject these days it really doesn't mean much as they are moved forward regardless of their academic standing.

Parents do everything to try and keep their offspring from ever experiencing failure in their lives.

Students and young people don't realize, that sometimes failure can be a good thing.

Failure can be the motivator that propels a person in a different direction using different circumstances that ultimately will lead to success.

In our success driven society, failure is seen a s a weakness, a cancer that must be eliminated from our life at all costs.

A recent study showed that  a majority of people are so fearful of failure they wont  even attempt to do anything different just out of the shear fear of failing.

Just to prove how failure can lead to success here are some examples of people who failed miserably but ultimately succeeded.

Henry Ford failed and was left broke no less than five times before he founded the successful Ford Motor Company.

J. K. Rowling before being published she was nearly penniless, severely depressed, divorced, trying to raise a child on her own while attending school and writing a novel.

Rowling went from depending on welfare to being one of the richest women in the world in a span of JUST five years.

So another take of failure if you please. If you want to succeed then a little failure in life could be just the right thing.
