Love The Changing Seasons

It's the end of August.

I'm probably going to get a lot of flack for this but I'm certainly not sorry that summer is almost over. I'm most likely only one of a handful of people who feel this way.

First of all...I don't like the heat...when it gets around 30 degrees and then you add in the humidity, I don't function as well as I do when it's cooler.

I get sluggish and cranky and hide out where there's air-conditioning.

I go from the house, to the car, to the office and back the same way and when I must be outdoors, I make sure I'm in the shade whenever possible.

I know that most people thrive on the heat and the sunshine...not me I  shrivel up.

I prefer the fall...I love the weather, the beauty of the  leaves changing colour, Thanksgiving and the knowledge that Christmas is  on the way.

Maybe because I spent a great deal of my life on the  prairies, when the winter comes, minus 30 doesn't faze me and even snow  shovelling is not a problem.

But as we like to do here in Canada, I'll complain about the winter,  when it's been around for awhile and start yearning for spring and  summer so I don't have to bundle up when I go out...and then I'll start  complaining about the heat!

It's a vicious cycle and one that I love.

I feel that we are very lucky to have four distinct seasons and all that goes with them.

It makes us  appreciate life in this country and all it has to offer.

I'm Leslie Michaels
