Teacher Legislation Sets Up Another Battle

It seems to me when two bullies get into a public brawl, it's not fair that the audience gets the worst of it -- but it would appear that is about to happen.

Education Minister Laurel Broten has unveiled proposed legislation that would impose a contract on teachers if they don't sign local agreements by months end.

So how is it we the audience end up taking it in the neck.

Well, teachers say they won't strike, Minister Broten it seems -- doesn't trust them,
hence legislation affecting contracts, pay scales, benefits, strikes and lockouts for two years.

Teachers who say they won't strike do say they'll fight the legislation in court.

The Liberals say their legislation will win a court battle.

Blah Blah, Blah...

At any rate, the MPPs have been called back to the legislature early to deal with this issue next week, something the liberals seem keen on doing.

But wait a minute -- the Liberals don't have a majority,

The NDP feels the Liberals are creating problems where none exist, and the Tories say they weren't consulted on this proposed legislation so they are miffed for being summarily dismissed by the Liberals, who are acting like a majority, so we can see where that is going.

But why all this, at this time -- could it have anything to do with two byelections
and this is just a smoke screen being thrown up so the Liberals won't have to explain their dismal record, a 15 billion dollar deficit, the Ornge controversy, bonuses paid to 98 percent of public service managers, gigantic hydro bills, the wind turbine controversy, turning Ontario into a so called "HAVE NOT" province, losing almost two hundred million on a power plant they started against everyone's wishes, and the list just goes on and on.

I'm Dan McLean and From Where I Sit, I think we can all see how this works and how we the audience will end up taking it in the neck or the wallet probably both -- AGAIN!!!
