From Where I Sit

I don't know about you, but I've had enough already.

It just seems to me winter has started way too early.

It isn't officially the winter season until December 21st.

I would have been much happier if the heavy snow and stressful driving didn't started until then.

Mid-November is just to early for me, all I can hope for is an early spring.. I know, wishful thinking.

Being an eternal optimist, I thought we would get a break this year after what we all went through last year, but no.......

Thankfully I live in an apartment so I don't have to shovel, but just the hassle of brushing off mounds of snow that almost cover my little car and trying to go for walks around the neighbourhood when the sidewalks haven't been cleared.

But I do understand that crews are working as hard as they can and that the main roads are their priority over secondary roads and sidewalks.

I also realize that they need breaks, especially with new labour laws that state plow drivers can only work 13 hours straight before getting an extended rest period..13 hours is a long a time to work straight so we all just need to be patient and understanding.

Atleast the local stores are selling snowblowers and shovels and brushes like hot cakes.

And it's great news for the ski operators in our area who are getting a jump start on the season.

Blue Mountain is set to open today, weather permitting.

I envy skiiers and snowboarders because they get so excited when they see the snow coming down, while I just think... here we go again.
