From Where I Sit
June 9, 2010 A couple of amusing little stories crossed my desk this past few days that caused me to smile. The first concerned an article in the Times on line about the fact the Sunday Times Magazine of London has signed up a new medical columnist. Ozzy Osbourne. That right, the rocker who overcame drug and alcohol addiction, mental breakdowns and dysfunctional family life to become a world authority on pharmacology, neurology, psychology and hypochondra is the newspapars so called under-the-counter health columnist known as Dr Ozzy. As Osborne tells the paper who better to hand out medical advice than someone who as he puts it has seen hundreds of doctors over his somewhat abused life and probably knows more about doctoring that the agerage m.d. That second story that tickled my fancy concerned that fact that June 18th is suppose to be the happiest day of the year. That comes from Brit Cliff Arnall, a psychologist and former tutor at Cardiff University. He uses a complicated formula to determine the exact day of utmost joy and happiness. The formula is (O (N xS) Cpm/T He). He says feel-good sensations are enjoying time with friends and loves ones, appreciating nature in the sunshine and looking forward to the weekend and a holiday. So there you have it.in need of medical adevice, check in with the hypochondric Dr. Ozzy. Feeling blue, when the happiest day of the year is just one week away. So don't, worry. Be happy
